The Three Sisters
This mountain range in Oregon is quite a site to behold. I actually wasn't aware of it until I stopped to shoot it, and shared it online immediately, and someone informed me of what I was looking at. Gotta love social media :)
According to wikipedia, "The Three Sisters are three volcanic peaks of the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the Cascade Range in Oregon, each of which exceeds 10,000 ft (3,048 m) in elevation." [link] . Impressive.
This photo was shot in March of this year, back when I had the Leica S2. It also still has that damn line going down the middle of the image that no one has been able to explain. I retouched it out somewhat, but to be honest got fed up with it.
I love the original shot. The composition of the field, the sprinklers on wheels, and the Three Sisters I thought was quite good. The sky was very cooperative too, and I love the cloud "trapped" on the mountain on the right (someone will know what that's called, I'm sure). The B&W conversion was good too; maybe I could spend some more time getting it even better but once the line showed up my enthusiasm wavered :(
You've undoubtedly notice the quietness on this site lately. We had a really good run for a while, but I think I pushed too may out per week and that was unsustainable. What I'd like to try is one post per week, on Tuesday at noon PST (I'm spreading out my schedule among all my sites). And of course what I really want to see are YOUR photos on here!
So let's get this site back on it's feet, shall we? Who's gonna have a post ready for me to release next Tuesday?
