It was the first session this season of a monthly photo workshop.
A quiet morning, and urban park, and I wanted to see if there was some other portal, some other dimension I could enter through the viewfinder of my camera. I encourage experimentation, pointing my students to viewpoints, techniques and opportunities to see what is normally passed by. It is mostly about carving out a slice of time and taking a second or third look.
The movement of light, the illusion of travel, in this case was created by zooming during a long exposure. Canon 30D with 10-22mm shot at 1/4 sec. at f/22.
Changing from my usual workflow, I edited this in Snapseed on the iPad, sent it back into Aperture and fiddled with recovery and definition a bit.
I like to explore the quiet places.
