This is one of my favorite images of a geological feature called Cathedral Rock not far from where I live. With this particular shot black and white was simply the only treatment that worked. Even though this is a sunset the brooding sky and textural landscape screamed monochrome to me. I struggled with the processing of this image and made several attempts at it over the years and only got it right after getting the Nik suite. I processed it using Nik HDR Efex (single image process) and Silver Efex Pro 2.
I took this with my first serious camera - the original 5D and my 17-40. Exposure is 4 sec @ f16.
