Low fog, high contrast
This is an older photo; I shot this in 2008 while on a wine tasting weekend getaway with friends in Australia. What I remember about this morning was that it was amazingly cold, with a thick layer of low-lying fog enshrouding us, but the sunny sky peeking through up above promising a day of warmth (and wine!) ahead.
The original photo was one I'd marked as something I knew I liked, but wasn't quite up to par. Now, revisiting it and converting to B&W, I'm liking it much more.
Go back through some of your old photos that you thought you'd love when you shot them, but havent' been impressed with since. You never know what you might be able to do with it revisiting it years later, and converting to B&W.
